What electric furnace repair actually involves
An electric furnace heats air with resistance elements that switch on in stages, so the repair usually comes down to tracing which stage stopped working. We measure current draw at each element, test the sequencers that bring them on, and check the high limit and blower circuit. Low airflow is a common cause of failure, because a starved furnace overheats and trips its limit. We correct the airflow problem too, otherwise the same part fails again a season later.
What we check on the call
We start at the thermostat and work toward the furnace, confirming the call for heat actually reaches the control board. From there we check the breaker and disconnect, element continuity, sequencer contacts, the limit and any fusible links, blower motor and capacitor, wiring connections for heat damage, and static pressure across the filter and coil. If the unit shares a cabinet with cooling, we look at the whole air handler, since a weak blower shows up in summer as well as winter.

Why is my electric furnace blowing cool air?
Usually one or more heating elements or their sequencers have failed, so the blower runs without heat behind it. A tripped breaker or a thermostat set to fan only will do the same thing. Check those two, then call us.
Why does my electric furnace keep tripping the breaker?
A shorted element, a failing blower motor or a loose high voltage connection can all draw more current than the circuit allows. This is high voltage work, so leave it alone and let us test it before resetting again.
Can a dirty filter damage an electric furnace?
Yes. Restricted airflow lets heat build around the elements and repeatedly trips the high limit, which shortens the life of the limit, the elements and the blower motor. Changing the filter on schedule prevents most of it.
