Seasonal Maintenance Visits

Seasonal maintenance visits are scheduled tune-ups on your cooling and heating equipment, one before the hot months and one before the cold ones, and we do them for homeowners across California and Nevada. You need one if your system has gone a year without service, if airflow has dropped off, or if last summer ended with the AC struggling to keep up. Call us and we will set a visit before the weather forces the issue, which is the cheapest time to find a failing part.

What a seasonal visit involves

We work the whole system, not one part of it. On the cooling side we clean the outdoor coil, check refrigerant pressures and temperature split, tighten electrical connections, and test the contactor and capacitor under load. On the heating side we inspect the heat exchanger, watch burner ignition and flame, and confirm the safety controls shut things down when they should. We change or check the filter, clear the condensate drain, and check blower amp draw. Then we tell you plainly what we found.

What we check and what we replace on site

Most of what fails on a package unit or split system is small and predictable. Weak capacitors, pitted contactors, cracked flex duct at the plenum, clogged drain lines, and filters packed with ag dust and cottonwood fluff. We carry common parts so a worn capacitor gets replaced during the visit instead of becoming a July no-cool call. If we find something bigger, like a failing compressor or a compromised heat exchanger, we explain it, show you what we are looking at, and lay out your options.

How we decide maintenance is the right call

If your system runs but runs hard, maintenance is the right first step. Longer cycles, warmer air at the vents, higher amp draw, a unit that sounds different than last year. Those point to dirt, airflow restriction, or a part drifting out of spec, and a visit sorts out which. If the system is already down, or short cycling on a safety, we handle that as air conditioning repair or heating repair first, then set you up on a seasonal schedule once it is stable.

Seasonal Maintenance Visits — quick answers

How often should we come out?

Twice a year suits most homes here, once in spring for cooling and once in fall for heating. Attic package units and systems that run long hours through triple-digit weather benefit from the spring visit especially.

Will a maintenance visit stop a breakdown?

It catches a good share of them. Weak capacitors, dirty coils and blocked drains are the common causes of mid-summer failures, and all three are visible during a tune-up before they strand you.

What should we do before the technician arrives?

Clear a path to the indoor unit and the attic access, move patio furniture or planters away from the outdoor unit, and note anything odd you have heard or smelled. That is all we need from you.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
  • Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
  • Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
  • Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
