What the job involves
A UV install means mounting a lamp so its light actually hits the wet part of the evaporator coil or the air stream, then wiring it to a safe power source inside the cabinet. Ventilation work is different. That is adding or repairing a fresh air path, a bath or kitchen exhaust that terminates outside, or a balanced ventilator so stale air leaves and filtered air comes in. Both are done with the system off and the panels open, and both take airflow measurements, not guesses.
What we check and install
We start at the coil and the drain pan, since standing water and dust are what feed growth in the first place. We check filter fit and bypass, blower speed, static pressure, duct leakage in the attic, and where existing exhaust fans dump their air. From there we might install a coil-facing UV lamp, an in-duct air-stream lamp, a sealed fresh air inlet with a damper, or a proper exhaust run. We also replace spent lamps, because output drops long before the bulb looks dark.
How we decide it is the right call
UV earns its place when there is a real biological problem, usually a slimy coil in a system that runs long hours in valley heat and humidity. If the smell is a dry dusty filter or a dirty blower wheel, cleaning fixes it and a lamp would not. Ventilation is the answer when the house is tight and odours or moisture linger. We tell you which one applies, and we will say plainly when neither is needed and the money belongs in duct sealing instead.

Will a UV light clean the air in every room?
No. A coil-mounted lamp treats the coil and nearby surfaces. Air-stream lamps only work on air passing them, and only while the blower runs. Filtration and ventilation do more for whole-house air than any lamp alone.
How often do UV lamps need replacing?
Most lamps lose useful output in roughly a year to two years of runtime, even when still glowing. We note the install date at the cabinet and check output when we are back for AC or heating service.
Is UV light safe around my ductwork?
Installed correctly, the lamp is enclosed inside the cabinet or duct and you never see it. It should never be run with panels off. Some older flexible duct liners degrade under direct light, so we position lamps accordingly.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That tells us whether to bring parts for a cooling fault or a heating fault.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit. You get told what failed and why, in plain words, before anything is replaced.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and measure the results at the vents. If a part needs ordering, we say so and give you a realistic window instead of a vague promise.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for real valley heatWe work in areas where afternoons sit above 110 degrees and systems run for months without a break. That shapes how we size repairs, check capacitors and contactors, and judge whether a compressor is genuinely done.
- Attic and package unitsPlenty of homes across the region run attic air handlers or rooftop package units instead of a garage furnace and a side-yard condenser. We are used to the access, the duct runs, and the drain issues those setups bring.
- Dust and debris we expectAg dust, cottonwood fluff and grass clippings pack condenser coils and starve a system of airflow. We clean what we find and show you the difference, rather than adding refrigerant to a unit that just could not breathe.
- Heating too, not only ACFurnace repair, heat pump faults and no-heat calls get the same attention as summer work. Ignition problems, cracked or failing components and short cycling all get diagnosed before we recommend anything larger.
- All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
